Bigotry at Pride
A rather alarming event happened at the Pride parade this weekend where a steward acted in an illegal and bigoted manner toward a group of people attending Pride.
Naturally, this needs to be addressed quickly, the harm this may have done to the individuals concerned is very damaging, and especially those who were perhaps new to their new roles in life and just getting started on their transitions. At the very least an apology must be given to the people concerned and even the community in general, the organisers and City of London simply MUST take action to ensure this does not happen again.
I can't help but think of my imminent RLT when I read things like this. I have agreed to use the disabled toilets at work during my real life test (as long as they are not engaged already) in order to avoid potentially embarrassing anyone. But I don't think I would have been at all happy if my employer had attempted to force me to do this.
As I write this, I am waiting for responses from a number of people and organisations I have contacted regarding these events, I will update the site as soon as I hear anything.
